ABOUT SATORI LEARNING DESIGNS

Satori is a Japanese word that means “sudden flash of understanding or enlightenment”. It is what Facilitators say happens in our experiential learning sessions and what we are dedicated to providing.

Satori’s Core Values

A core values is an intrinsic view that drives how we respond to a situation or each other. It is necessary for facilitators and those they teach to understand and demonstrate certain core values if they are to successfully use this program. These include the following:

SAFETY

We all have the right to physical and interpersonal safety.

COOPERATION

Cooperation, not competition, is needed for mutual benefit in times of crisis.

TEAMWORK FOR THE COMMON CAUSE

Learning is most beneficial in a safe, supportive environment.

VALUE

We all have value because we exist and not because of our behavior. Behavior may be despicable but people are not.

RESPECT

We all deserve to be treated with respect and to be taken seriously.

ACCEPTANCE

No one has the right to judge the worth of another person.

COURTESY AND HUMILITY

We all deserve to get our needs met but not at the expense of other people.
