Program Prerequites

Program 1 Prerequites

Must be able to speak clearly, read, and understand the English Language.

Program 2 Prerequites

Must have completed Program 1

Stepping backward
Grasping
Bending at the waist and knees
Twisting at the waist
Side-stepping
Have the ability to shift direction quickly (180 degrees)
Full range of motion in both arms and both legs
Must be able to accurately perform the Assisting Process.

Program 3 Prerequites

Must have completed Program 1 and 2

Stepping backward
Grasping
Bending at the waist and knees
Lower 30-50 pounds to the ground
Must be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance
Full range of motion in both arms and both legs
Must be able to do a deep reverse lunge
Must be able to accurately perform the Assisting Process.

Reverse Lunge Description:

Using left leg (may do lunge from either side) take a large and controlled step backward with your left foot. Lower your hips so that your right thigh (front leg) is parallel to the floor -right knee should be positioned directly over your ankle. Your left knee should be bent a at a 90-degree angle and pointing toward the floor with your left heel lifted.

These intensive program provides hands-on training in SAMA programs. Facilitators will learn intervention techniques, coaching strategies, and assessment methods to become certified facilitators.
